I can't run amcheck, even though it's there and I've just built amanda-2.4.2 |

When you build version 2.4.2 of amanda, the easiest way to build it is:
/p ulink libecome the amanda user (eg, amanda, bin, backup)/li lido the ./configure with the options you require/li limake/li lisu root/li limake install/li p If you build amanda as root - at least on my system - it doesn't install the setuid parts correctly in that amanda cannot use them for relatively obscure reasons. The fix appears to be to redo their permissions and ownerships which involves finding out which ones are setuid root, changing their ownership, resetting them to setuid root... /p p It's just easier to build it first as the amanda user :-) /p hr center --trust me-- /center lloy0076@rebel.net.au | |
